My name is Debra Lampert. This will be my fourth year teaching Hebrew at Temple Beth Sholom and I have taught K-2 and 4th and 5th grade Hebrew at Beth Am Temple in Pearl River.
I live in New City, NY with my two children, Rachel and Jenna and husband Jonathan.
I look forward to getting to know your children and to help them become confident Hebrew prayer readers while also learning and understanding the history and meaning of the prayers and blessings.
My favorite Jewish Holiday is Passover. I love getting together with my family for the Seder and retelling the story of where God freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.
I can’t wait to find out what your favorite Jewish holiday is too!
I’m so excited to be teaching Kitah Hey again this year! I have been teaching 5th grade at Temple Beth Sholom for a few years now, and even though this year is going to be different than ever before, I’m looking forward to all the fun we will have together and all the wonderful things that we will learn.
A little bit about me: I live in Suffern with my husband Dave, and our two adorable, smart, and sometimes trouble-making daughters. Devorah, who is almost 7, and Yael, who is 3. We also have a super-sweet dog named Jada who loves hiking, sleeping on the couch, and belly rubs. Besides teaching Religious School, I love hiking, crocheting, reading, and baking cupcakes. I also really love spending time having fun with my family.
My favorite Jewish holiday is Purim. What’s more fun than dressing up in costumes and making lots of noise? And there’s gift baskets! And carnivals! And I especially love hamentashen (you know, those triangle cookies filled with jelly.) Yum!
I can’t wait to find out all of your favorite holidays, and lots more. It's going to be a great year, and we’re all looking forward to it!
